Greek Community Continues to Grow at Rising Stars | Paul Savramis

Fall 2026 marked one of the most successful team tryouts in Rising Stars' 30-year history. It was also a significant event for Rising Stars founder Paul Savramis.

"Every year, our staff looks at our fall tryouts as a measure of what we have done over the past year," explained Savramis. "We look at how many new players come from our summer camps, our yearly training, and our Little Stars Academy graduates."

This year, Paul Savramis was especially pleased with the growth of one particular demographic, a group that holds personal significance for him.

Savramis is a Greek American who grew up playing in Greek basketball leagues and being part of New York's Greek community.

"I will never forget my friends and the extended family I had growing up, so it's very special for me to see the growth of Greek players at Rising Stars," said Paul Savramis.

Savramis also explained that Rising Stars organized a special trip to Greece for its entire program, which was a tremendous success.

"Our trip to Greece had boys from every walk of life involved, in addition to our Greek boys and girls. It was a great time and an unforgettable experience," said Savramis.

"Regardless of anything else, having a diversity of players from all different parts of the world coming to Rising Stars is something families really appreciate about us," continued Savramis.

"We have always looked to team travel as a great way to expand how our families see life as a whole."

Today, that broader perspective has become part of everyday life at Rising Stars, reflecting the program's continued emphasis on bringing together players from different backgrounds and communities.
